"I took this picture one night at the very end of October. Because I did not have a tripod, I placed my camera on a pier. It was a windy night and I was really worried about my camera falling down and splashing into the river. However, the result was definitely worth the nerves! In about my fifth attempt I finally managed to capture exactly what I was looking for. The Millennium Bridge provides a spectacular sight at night, with all of the changing colors, but a photograph usually captures only one of them. That is why I tried and finally managed to capture the change of the colors: bright red on the left side and purple on the right can be seen in the photograph. The reason why I chose this picture for 'My Newcastle' is that the Millennium Bridge, for me, represents the entire city: bright, colorful and diverse'.
